27 Dec Tartines with spicy pumpkin hummus
Tartines with spicy pumpkin hummus are not only a breakfast or lunch option but are a great and healthy choice for a party snack. I’m well aware that they are not as tempting as potato chips or any other unhealthy snacks, but they’ re sooo worth your attention, cause they are really delicious.
I’m also going to tell you my little secret. All hummuses are really ideal party finger food and disappear quickly, so if you plan to organize New Year’s Eve party at home, hummus is worth being included on the menu. Pumpernikel works great, cause over the course of the evening it does not get soggy as other breads and spicy hummus gives a bit of a kick.
Ingredients
1 pack of party pumpernikel ( around 30 small, round slices)
150 g well cooked chickpeas ( or canned chickpeas)
125 g of pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
around 25 g water in which chickpeas were cooked or the liquid from the can
3 tablespoons of flaxseed or rapeseed oil
salt and freshly ground pepper
half of fresh chilli (for extra hot hummus go for whole chilli)

Recipe
1. Place chickpeas, cooking water, oil and chilli in a food processor and process until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Spread hummus on slices of pumpernikel. If you want nice visual effect you may use piping bag, as me.
