27 Feb Gingerbread flavoured, baked doughnuts
Baked doughnuts are great alternative for not so healthy deep fried doughnuts. They are lighter that the traditional ones and equally delicious. Although they are not fully sinless, they are definitely a healthier option if you’re searching for one. And belive me, that you will be seduced not only with doughnuts but also with gingerbread sprinkle.
Ingredients (14 pc.)

2/3 cup of milk
4 g dry yeast
1 tablespoon of butter
1/3 cup of sugar
1 egg
2,5 cup of flour
0,5 teaspoon of salt
Ingredients for gingerbread sprinkle:
50g butter
0,75 cup of sugar
1 tablespoons of gignerbread spice
Recipe
1. Sift flour and dry yeast into a big bowl
2. Add sugar, egg and salt to the flour
3. In a small pot melt the butter. When almost melted add milk and heat until milk and slightly warm.
4. Add butter with milk to the rest of the ingredients.
5. Work the dough, preferably by stand mixer with hook for bread or yeast dough if you have one. Do not add more flour even if you think that the dough is a bit too sticky. It will change its structure during rising.
6. Cover and place in a warm place for approximately 1,5h
7. After 1,5h of dough resting and rising, turn on the oven and set temperature for 180ºC
8. Place on a counter top dusted with flour. Work a dough a little bit and then roll it out to a thickness of around 13mm. Cut circles by means of a cup. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
9. Cover with a dish cloth and set aside in a warm place for additional resting and puffing for approximately 45 minutes
10. Bake doughnuts for 8- 10 minutes
11. While doughnuts are being baked, melt the butter for gingerbread sprinkle
12. Mix sugar with gingerbread spice
13.After baking, cool doughnuts for 2-3 minutes. Dip them in melted butter and sprinkle with sugar mixed with gingerbread spice
14. Place on the rack and allow to cool completely
