Asparagus and red onion pizza

If you like asparagus as much as I do, this pizza will be perfect for you. Delicious, full of spring aromas and textures is also crispy, because of the pizza dough that is extremely thin, as truly Italian pizza should be. It’s simply delicious!

Ingredients for pizza dough (2 small pizzas)

250 g white flour
175 g water
1/8 teaspoon of dry yeast
1 teaspoon of salt

Ingredients for pizza topping

16-20 asparagus stems
2 large red onions, sliced
2 cloves of garlic
salt and pepper
around 200 g of cream cheese (e.g. Philadelphia)
around 100 g grated cheddar cheese

Recipe

1. 9-12 hours before pizza baking mix all ingredients for pizza dough and set aside in a bowl covered with clean cloth , at room temperature.
2. After 9-12 hours during which pizza dough was resting, set the temperature in your oven for 250°C
3. Shape pizza dough into two pizzas (sprinkling with a bit of flour if necessary) and arrange on parchment paper or special dish for baking pizza.

4. Wash asparagus, peel the lower part of stem, cut lengthwise and then chop into 3cm long pieces.
5. Mix cream cheese with grated garlic and season with salt and pepper
6. Prebake the pizza dough for around 5 minutes in the heated oven.
7. Remove pizza dough from the oven, spread cream cheese on top and arrange red onion and asparagus.
8. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese
9 Bake for 5 – 10 minutes, taking care not to burn the pizza.
