Homemade peanut butter

Homemade peanut butter

Homemade version of peanut butter is worth all the effort, cause it’s not only healthier but cheaper than the store-bought version.  The latter usually contains only 60% of peanuts or less. So what exactly is hidden behind remaining 40%? I don’t even want to know. All I know is that homemade peanut butter has only two ingredients: unsalted peanuts and salt and that it tastes great.

Ingredients

200 g (or more) of unsalted peanuts

salt

Recipe

1. Place peanuts on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and roast in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 °C
2. Cool completely
3. Process in food processor until reaching buttery consistency – around 15 minutes. Don’t be scared if you see that the consistency at the beginning of processing is not as desired for some time during processing. It is natural, since the consistency changes after every couple of minutes.
